Some reader of mine was asking me today if the Gs did not get married in the past: the answer is yes. However, the good news is that it was to each other (link to press coverage - in March 2004). They actually announced they plan to do this every 2 years from now on.
As Ari S.’s bestman, I was to keep the ring for a good hour and a half before the wedding on my finger, it was excruciating as I was panicking over losing it or have it stolen while shaking hands with the guests (I felt like Gollum in Lord of the Rings most of the day actually). I also had prepared a speech Download for_the_gs.doc and was very careful to stay sober during lunch. Amazingly enough, I could not find my beta blockers, was very nervous asking LL from time to time if eventually he would read it for me. Thank god people did not understand my English and everybody laughed politely when I would I pause.
Alex, Mike G’s bestman, made an awesome speech that included this quote by the groom who once, while being asked advices on a potential break-up, replied: “Well when I have a stock that is doing very badly on the market, the natural tendency is to hang on to it but this is not the way to go” which is indeed true for stocks and boyfriends in my experience. So much for my promise to never quote him here again. I am not to be trusted...
Mark D. and Jason C. won again the best outfit contest, this time along with Ricardo Z. This is in the boys category of course as the maids of honor, Rachel L. and Krupa D., were also beautifully dressed. Jim M. under the Californian wine influence gossiped about Kevin W. and Ben T.’s dates as well as on Chuck W. Brian L., Kevin and John M., Ricardo Z. and Brian P., were among the other distinguished Washingtonian guests.
Nobody could tell me who is the blogger behind out of step/DC, I guess we will ask famous Karl. Visiting Kia, i found this great blog, I particularly like the posts on David H's relations with his mother.
