Last night, we went on a grand tour of DC nightlife low-end that included Remington’s, Heat and Nation. If you make abstraction of the fact that I ridiculed myself (and LL) by dancing briefly at Remington’s, it was altogether a very merry evening. Heat is indeed a young male brothel. One in our group even entered in an argument on the morale implications of our presence there and our social responsibilities. Were we backing up the ugly cycle of teenage prostitution and drug dealing ? we might but as I saw in “I heart huckabees” Friday night, looking trendy also often imply supporting child labor, doesn’t it ? Anyway strippers there were trashy, even Arturo R. who once was known to like whorehouses seem disgusted. Btw, Rusty R. confessed to be the fourth to have left my friendster: only three left and I will have a complete traitors list. Madonnarama was our last stop this morning (at this point Kevin D., the Gs, Jerome and the Rs were back home). Madonnarama reminds me of the day at school when 39-45 veterans would come to share their memories with kids. On our way there (nothing like a morning walk in Southeast), we crossed Joe. C. who seemed a bit unsettled. I rejoiced in seeing on the dancefloor Alex S. and Thomas M. (Alex S. recovery seems to be quicker than expected), Daniel B. who indicated that Rodolphe B. was shirtless somewhere in the crowd. John-David who is surely the new Clint M.. I think I saw TJ but would not be able to confirm that (I often have visions of TJ L and was a bit out of it towards the end of the evening). Fagzilla was there too but I cannot remember who accompanied him. Shane R., shirtless too, and Edison W. were dancing with Chad in the sweaty crowd. It was just a charming event.
